The Future is Hybrid

I received an insightful email from Freeman Clarke that hit right on a Runagood® pain point.

As you know, we partner with accountants to diversify them into business consultancy. They are attracted by the high level of automation that our system provides doing away with 90% of the work and learning.

But when they discover that they are still required to speak to clients and prospects, enthusiasm wanes. So, when the following came across my desk I felt vindicated…

Dear Duncan,

Plenty of commentators are chattering about hybrid offices. But mid-market CEOs tell me there is a bigger picture: put simply, people, both as employees and as consumers, have changed their expectation of real-world, face-to-face contact.

So, whilst we are seeing new opportunities for more flexible workspaces, we are also seeing new buying and service models. For example, there has been much written about the recent explosion of ecommerce. But the future is not ecommerce, it is hybrid.

 A few more examples:

  • Traditional retailers have created huge online channels. At the same time, Amazon is building up their High Street presence.

  • Business customers want comprehensive online product information, but they also increasingly want chat support and live video with an expert.

  • The best manufacturers monitor their products remotely in the field, supported by proactive visits from engineers before the customer is even aware there was a problem.

The future of work, selling, and service is hybrid.

Yours etc
