Step 1 Taking Business Advisory into Clients

In my last 16 posts I set out a step-by-step process that transitions a Compliance Practice into a Business Advisory Business. Now you’re ready to give the same medicine to clients and profit from the investment in your reorganisation.
 
The first and vital thing to understand is the difference between an expert consultant (accountant) and a process consultant (business advisor).

Edgar Shein’s diagram explains it well. As a Compliance Accountant you start at the bottom right of the grid and using Runagood® technology as your expert base, Model scenarios for your client. From there you Teach, as you build the improvement plan together, Coach as you guide the implementation and finally as Partner, ie ‘Trusted Advisor’ in all things.
