Research and Analyse Your Markets

Dear Accountant,

Step 37 Taking Business Solutions into Clients

In my last post we looked at the Marketing Methods group when considering where to start your client on their road to volume sales improvement. They will want to start with ‘M06 Raise Awareness of Your Business’. But you aren’t going to allow that until they’ve satisfied yourself about their competence with the 5 preceding Methods.

Start with ‘M01 Research and Analyse your Markets’ asking questions like this:

  • What is the size of your market?

  • Describe your ideal customer.

  • Where do they live?

  • How do they find out about your products and services?

  • Who are your main competitors

  • Why do people buy from them…?

Get them talking and judge if they really know enough about it and if not make them start here.
