The Enemy of your Plan is Entropy
As your client’s accountant with an ongoing relationship to maintain, you can’t afford to be the architect of an abandoned plan.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that the natural tendency of things is to lose order.
Sandcastles get washed away. Weeds overtake gardens. Ancient ruins crumble. Cars begin to rust. People gradually age. With enough time, even mountains erode and their precise edges become rounded. The inevitable trend is that things become less organised.
Entropy always increases over time which is why your lovely plan is already out of date when you start implementing it.
In my next post I’ll deal with how to counteract this from the word ‘go’.
